Abstract

BACKGROUND:

Complementactivationplaysanimportantroleinthepathophysiologyofanti-neutrophilcytoplasmicantibody(ANCA)-associatedvasculitis(AAV),althoughitremainsunclearwhichpathwayisactivated.Whetherpauci-immunenecrotizingcrescenticglomerulonephritis(pauci-immuneGN)withnegativeANCAserologyispartofthespectrumofAAVoradifferentdiseaseentityisessentiallyunknown.
